Un segment par quartier. Un quartier par cinéaste, livrant ainsi sa partie de l’histoire. Dix-huit réalisatrices et réalisateurs ont donc contribué à cette fresque horrifique, portée par l’interprétation de plus de 90 comédiens et comédiennes et le savoir-faire de plus de 200 artisans du cinéma. D’une ombre menaçante dans le centre-ville à une rencontre sensuelle, mais mortelle, dans le quartier gai en passant par un jeu du chat et de la souris sur le Mont Royal, la métropole québécoise sera, l’espace d’une journée, en proie à la terreur et à l’horreur. Bienvenue à Montréal. Aucune issue n’est possible.

The Federal and Provincial Governments were reluctant to cough up the cash for a one-time event that would cost more than all the bridges of Montreal.

The film follows the work of these women as they devote themselves to a most untraditional pursuit, and showcase two stages in a firefighter’s trajectory: the challenges of newbies who try to get hired by the Montreal Fire Department and life on the force as full-time squad members. Less than thirty women are part of the Montreal Fire Department, compared to more than 2,300 men. In recent years however, things have started to change, thanks to the ” Les filles ont le feu sacré” program, an initiative intended to make young women aware of the attractions of the rewarding but very demanding job. During their studies, the hopefuls must redouble their efforts in order to be accepted in a field that doesn’t make it easy for them.
