Mourir à tue-tête s’attaque à un sujet que les mentalités collectives s’acharnent à considérer comme tabou : le viol de la femme, de l’individuel (le cas de Suzanne) au rituel (la clitoridectomie), en passant par celui de masse (les Vietnamiennes). Le film va cependant plus loin en forçant le spectateur à se poser les questions fondamentales. Pourquoi le viol existe-t-il? Est-ce le sort naturel des femmes d’être violées? Qu’est-ce que le viol abîme chez la femme? Et où se situe la justice des hommes?

Tourné durant une grossesse réelle, basé sur le journal que la réalisatrice Anne Claire Poirier a elle-même tenu pendant l’une de ses grossesses, ce documentaire montre le corps de la femme enceinte, révèle ses émotions et ses angoisses. Ce film est le premier long métrage au sujet de la femme au Québec, réalisé en 1967, à la veille de la grande prise de conscience féministe.

Cramponnée de façon excessive à cet être handicapé, elle veut en assumer la charge. Étienne, son fiancé, n’a aucun goût pour le sacrifice. Il reproche à Marie de croupir dans son adolescence. L’amour l’emportera. Dans un geste définitif, Marie se libérera des liens qui la retenaient encore à son enfance.

Desperanto (Patricia Rozema) – Using sketchy French, a young Torontonian experiences nightlife in Montreal. The Canvas of Time (Jacques Leduc) – The story of a painting by Jacques Viger The Last Game (Michel Brault) – After 40 years of marriage, a woman tries to tell her husband, during a hockey game, of her intention to divorce. By the way (Atom Egoyan) – At the airport, a conference participant is blocked by a customs officer. Rispondetemi (Léa Pool) – Following an accident, while being taken to the hospital by ambulance, a woman remembers moments of her life. Vue d’ailleurs (Denys Arcand) – An elderly woman, during a reception, remembers the great love she experienced in Montreal.

Flocons aims to celebrate the 100th anniversary, in 2014, of Norman McLaren’s birth.

Mais l’accommodement des personnes obèses pose un dilemme de société. Deux poids, deux mesures nous fait réfléchir sur une question de santé publique qui pose un dilemme de taille.
