Claire Lamarche naît en 1945 au sein d’une famille de six enfants. C’est à Radio-Québec, en 1982, qu’elle fait ses premières armes comme animatrice en tenant la barre de l’émission Droit de parole. C’est au moment où elle fait le saut à TVA qu’elle devient une vedette. Elle touche le public quotidiennement avec des sujets parfois tabous, controversés ou plus légers, qu’elle présente à son émission éponyme pendant 12 ans. En parallèle, elle met sur pied une émission de retrouvailles qui deviendra la plus marquante de sa carrière et qui changera la vie de milliers d’individus.

The documentary Carré Saint-Louis invites you to a poetic and historical incursion in the little history of this emblematic square which for more than a century was a place where converged bohemian, marginalized, artists and the most fervent independentists.

Squat! exposes the hypocrisy and illogicality of the municipal authorities who stole the squatters’ initiative and idealism, drawing them into a political game of which they were the victims. The film not only reveals the voracious eye and biased coverage of the media, but also denounces the strong tendency of our capitalist society to not consider housing as a fundamental right and to repress any action to regain it autonomously.
