intimités francophones d’eux is a feature-length documentary that takes viewers on a journey to the heart of the territories of Canada (Yukon, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Sao Paulo), where the inhabitants of two countries meet and unite through the sharing of a language. Language enables us to transcend geographical and political borders, and enter into the linguistic intimacy of citizens. Language claims, Language uproots, Language conquers and appropriates. Speaking a language is a political act in itself.

At every turn, identities are revealed, words are loosened, struggles are clarified.

It tells the story of an artifact maker’s practice in a particular situation, between the autonomous researcher and the experimental practitioner who must rediscover and practice traditional methods and ways of producing primitive tools (cutting stones to make arrowheads and other tools; producing terracotta vases, building longhouses).

This documentary documents the exceptional career of Master Printmaker Janine Leroux Guillaume, who has been pursuing her work for over sixty years. She welcomes us to her home/workshop in Montreal, where she still works. During these friendly encounters, between 2008 and 2012, Janine talks to us about her work as an artist, and her tools. She shows and explains some of her works, and tells us about her collaboration with her husband Pierre Guillaume, typographer and printer, responsible for printing many of her etchings.

“El-Banate Dol” is a feature-length documentary that plunges us into the world of teenage girls living on the streets of Cairo, a world of violence and oppression, as well as freedom. These Girls astonish us with the strength they exude, the laughter that animates them, and the toughness with which they must cope with their daily lives. They are women, and therefore doubly marginalized. Their existence, their lives and the codes they adopt defy the social model. Their day is strewn with threats, from police raids to kidnapping by their street companions. Women-children, mothers-daughters, they necessarily live in the moment. Dance, laughter and acrobatics give a glimpse of childhood, as do the arguments that sometimes get out of hand.
