BIOGRAPHY
Rachel Graton, a graduate of the National Theatre School, is a multi-talented actress! Since graduating, she has divided her time between acting, writing and directing. On the small screen, she has appeared in five seasons of Au secours de Béatrice, in the popular series Les Simone, directed by Ricardo Trogi, as well as in Faits divers, Portrait-robot, Un lien familial and Sans rendez-vous. In the theater, she has performed in the main theaters. In recent years, she has played roles in Une vie pour deux, On ne badine pas avec l’amour, Le prince des jouisseurs, Le Tartuffe, Assoiffés, Bilan, Les Serpents and Le roman de Monsieur Molière.
On the big screen, Rachel was part of the cast of the feature films Miraculum, C’est le cœur qui meurt en dernier and Le répertoire des villes disparues. In 2017, Rachel won the 23rd Gratien-Gélinas Prize for her text La nuit du 4 au 5. This text will also win the 2019 Marcel Dubé Prize, and will be nominated for the 2019 Governor General’s Award. Since 2017, she has added strings to her bow by taking an interest in directing. She co-wrote and co-directed the short film Manon aime le field hockey with Sarah-Maude Beauchesne, and then short film Suzanne et Chantal, which she wrote and directed in 2021. Most recently, she also directed the filming of La nuit du 4 au 5, to be broadcast on Télé-Québec in the spring of 2022.
