À l’issue d’un concours organisé par Radio-Canada, Gracia Bahati été sélectionnée pour vivre l’aventure de Gagner le Nord. En août 2010, elle est montée à bord du brise-glace NGCC Des Groseilliers de la Garde côtière canadienne en compagnie d’une équipe de télévision pour participer à une mission scientifique dans le Grand Nord canadien. Le brise-glace est parti de Nanisivik au Nunavut, situé à 280 km au nord-ouest d’Iqaluit, pour se rendre à la station météorologique Eureka, établie sur l’île d’Ellesmere dans l’extrême Arctique.

After spending his childhood around the world on the family’s sailing boat, Damien decides at the age of 19, to go back to sea. He wants to participate in the Mini-Transat, a solo race of 4000 nautical miles between France and Brazil. The adventure begins in Quebec, with the construction of his small, but very High Tech, 6.5 meters boat and continues in France with the training and the qualifying for the ultimate challenge.Finally, on September 2001, Damien leaves La Rochelle with 60 other participants from more then 12 different countries. On board, for only company, a small video camera to share his thoughts and feelings during the 34 days of the race. Alone amongst others is the story of an amazing adventure that required courage, will, perseverance and the love of a family.
