BIOGRAPHY

Yousra Benziane is the laureate of the Regard sur Montréal artistic residency in which she directed the short film Nitrate (2019). The film opened the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) in November 2019. In March 2020, the film won the FIPRESCI International Critics Award for Best Canadian Short Film at the REGARD festival. The film was nominated at the IRIS for the best documentary short film. The film had its international premiere at Vienna Shorts and is currently continuing its life in festivals. Bulletin spécial (2017) was presented at the REGARD festival, on Air Canadaʼs flights, at the Québec en court program presented by SODEC at the Festival international du court métrage de Clermont-Ferrand and in about 20 other festivals. It won the best Very Short Film award at Courts dʼun soir. In 2016-2017, she presented the installation Fuite at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts as part of the exhibition Lʼart de lʼinclusion.
