BIOGRAPHY
Sylvie Chenard is a multidisciplinary artist that lives in Portneuf-sur-Mer since 2015. Born in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec, in 1957, she has lived in Quebec City, Saguenay, Montreal and Tadoussac.
A musician, author, poet and journalist, she has worked in cultural, educational and feminist circles where she has been involved for over forty years.
She holds a Master’s degree in Communication, Interactive Multimedia Concentration, from UQAM (2004).
Her hybrid and socially engaged multimedia creations – exploration projects that she began in 1989 are available on her website Les projets de la baleine.
She has published poetry books, novels, and several music albums.
She has presented few exhibitions of photographs, digital images, and video installations. She has initiated several solo and collective performances of improvised music, poetry, multimedia, and participatory art.
