BIOGRAPHY

Rosalie St-Laurent is an emerging filmmaker hailing from the city of Quebec. She studied cinema at Cégep de Sainte-Foy before continuing her education at Laval University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in communication, complemented by additional coursework in cinema. Within the cinema courses at Laval University, Rosalie unleashed her creativity. She directed a striking music video for Michaël Rogers’ Psychopathic Kings, but it was with her debut short film, Après aujourd’hui (2022), that she truly found her passion for filmmaking. This poignant film delves into the mental health of a single mother. The film garnered recognition, being selected for the Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal, the Festival du film étudiant de Québec, and the MILF Fest at McGill University, where it won the Best Drama award. Currently in preproduction for her next project, Artifice, Rosalie is gearing up to once again explore the intricate realm of mental health. This upcoming short film promises to delve into the performance pressures faced by artists, while highlighting Rosalie’s unique perspective on these delicate subjects.
