BIOGRAPHY

Nathalie Saint-Pierre is a writer, director, producer and editor born in Montreal. At the age of 20, while studying business administration, three films changed the course of her life: Fellini’s Casanova, Leos Carax’s Bad Blood and Jean-Claude Lauzon’s Un zoo la nuit, three electroshocks that made her realize the urgency of daring to live her life, whereas until then she had been petrified by the obligation to earn it.

Nathalie worked for five years with Les Films de l’Autre. There she learned about film production and, above all, that there are as many ways of making films as there are filmmakers.

Since then, she has written, directed, edited and produced five films with her company Extérieur Nuit, including her three feature films: Ma voisine danse le ska (2003); Catimini (2012), Valois d’or at the Festival du cinéma francophone d’Angoulême; Sur la terre comme au ciel (2023) co-written with Marika Lhoumeau, awarded at the Buff Malmö Festival and the Dieppe Canadian Film Festival (Grand Prix du Jury, Prix Jeunesse and Prix d’Interprétation to Lou Thompson and Édith Cochrane).
