BIOGRAPHY
Marthe Morisset became a scriptwriter at Radio-Canada, then at the National Film Board, where she collaborated on several landmark works for Quebec television and cinema. On May 22, 1943, in Quebec City, she married Maurice Blackburn, a music composer who also worked for the NFB.
During her career, she wrote screenplays for Radio-Canada’s popular children’s program Bobino et Bobinette. She also created opera librettos, as well as screenplays for a number of films and short films: for example, the works created in collaboration with director Anne Claire Poirier, Les filles du roy (1974) and Mourir à tue-tête (1979). She also contributed to the feminist play La nef des sorcières (1976). She also co-directed the NFB film À qui appartient ce gage? (Who owns this pledge?).
