BIOGRAPHY

Julie Lambert has lived in the Quebec City region for over 15 years. After an initial career in social services, she made the switch to filmmaking in 2007, when she was selected to take part in the Quebec-France Müvmédia Rally. She went on to direct several short films, while working in a variety of positions on fiction, advertising and documentary film crews. Highly involved in Quebec City’s artistic community, she is a founding member of L’ÉTABLI and has sat on the boards of Kinomada and Spira.

In 2014, she directed her first feature film Un film de chasse de filles with the support of Telefilm Canada. In 2017 and 2018, she co-directed two seasons of the documentary series De par chez nous broadcast on Unis.Tv. In 2022, her latest documentary, Femmes des bois, hit screens around the world. Her relationship with the land is always at the heart of her cinematic preoccupations.

In parallel with her filmmaking practice, since 2019 she has been passing on her passion for images to the next generation by teaching at the college level, and more recently as a lecturer at Laval University.
