BIOGRAPHY

Joudy Hilal is a filmmaker of Syrian origin. She has lived in Montreal since 2001. She completed her university training in cinematography studies and received a D.E.S.S. in management of cultural organizations. She was a photographer on her own account and for the City of Montreal. Always with the objective of carrying out her own creative projects, Joudy is a recipient of the Regard sur Montréal grant with which she wrote, directed and produced the documentary film Allô Téta Allô Jedo.The film is at the crossroads between tradition and integration and allowed Joudy join the filmmaking community. Today, Joudy is interested in the condition of young immigrants and their ability to integrate into the arts. She deeply hopes that new initiatives will enable these young people to believe that it is possible to enter artistic fields and to succeed professionally.
