BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne Carrière is a young screenwriter who graduated from the Institut National de l’Image et du Son (L’inis) cinema program in 2020. Her writing focuses on current social issues and the taboos that drive her. In 2021, her project De l’autre côté du béton was approved by the Programme d’aide à la création émergente en développement. She thus began her career with the desire to link her sensitive, visual cinematic universe with her past studies in social work.

Dramatically, her launch into the Quebec film world was put on hold following a very serious accident that changed her life permanently. After being hospitalized for over a year, Jeanne quickly picked up where he left off, with his selection as a finalist in the Cours Écrire Ton Court competition in the winter of 2023. Her project Bigfoot went on to win first prize in the competition organized by SODEC. Now quadriplegic, paralyzed from the collarbones to the toes, Jeanne dreams of making films in a different way, in a wheelchair.
