Henri Painchaud is a proud Madelinot from Havre-Aubert (Magdalen Islands, Canada), a lover of history and encyclopedias who promised himself since childhood that one day he would build a trebuchet, a medieval weapon of war. Le patenteux (The Tinkerer) is an immersion in the routine of a man who never dreamed of greatness, yet who nevertheless achieves great things.
