Le jardin de Pupa

Pupa’s Garden is an intimate and touching portrait of Ida Emma Lonati Frati, known to all as Nonna Pupa. In the early 1980s, Nonna Pupa cleaned up an illegal dump and transformed it into a beautiful botanical garden for her community of Cernobbio, on Lake Como, Italy. Juggling the daily care of her daughter, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, with the creation of this splendid garden, Nonna Pupa was a pioneer in environmental awareness and therapeutic gardening. Her resilience, creativity, and charm inspire us all to continue her work. The garden is now called Il Giardino della Valle (The Garden of the Valley).
