Danielle Marie Chanut creates what she calls her “repurposed books and objects”… After a short prologue with the artist, Helen Doyle literally plunged into her phantasmagorical universe, diverting a dozen of her unusual creations. Like a detective with a magnifying glass, the filmmaker lingered over the traces of our collective unconscious through myths, tales, and legends. Like Danielle Marie, she thought it best to let the material speak for itself… and to search the interstices of a page or the fragments of a pink shell to uncover the buried secrets and chimerical visions of the artist’s inner self…
