La classe de madame Lise

Their names are Rafik, Solace, Rahat, Jessica, and Adonay. They are six years old and live in Parc Extension, a multi-ethnic neighborhood in the heart of Montreal. They are Ms. Lise’s students. Over the course of an entire school year, director Sylvie Groulx chronicles this first-grade class, with the teacher at its center—a woman who also serves as an interpreter, social worker, mentor, and liaison to parents and the community.
