In Nepal, a country partitioned by China, Tibet and India, women are still considered second-class citizens.

However, three sisters stand out for daring to break conventions: Lucky, Nicky and Dicky Chhetri, who refuse to submit to the sexist traditions of their country of origin and bow down under the weight of customs. Founders of the association Empowering Women of Nepal, they devote their time to improving the living conditions of Nepalese women, giving them the means to take control of their lives and promoting gender equality.

Women of the Mountains is a foray into the lives of the three sisters and their work with Nepalese women. Through their courageous rebirth, we witness gripping moments of detachment from ancestral values, integration of new landmarks, confrontation with loved ones, but also reconciliation and fulfillment.
