BIOGRAPHY

Originally from the island of Martinique and a graduate of the International School of Audiovisual Creation and Production (EICAR) in Paris, Emilie Porry began her career as a journalist-reporter before becoming a screenwriter and documentary filmmaker. Before moving to Quebec in 2018, she worked as a director for major French national television networks (France 5, France Ô, TF1) as well as for National Geographic Channel. In recent years, she has collaborated as a co-writer with the poet Joséphine Bacon on the feature-length documentary Nitassinan (currently in production), produced by Nikan Productions (formerly Terre Innue), and on the documentary series Kasaléo, la Révélation (2023) by Gentille M. Assih, produced by Les Productions Colorées. She is also the writer and co-director, alongside multidisciplinary artist Soleil Launière, of the documentary Le théâtre de l’Histoire (2022), produced by Wookey Films and broadcast on Radio-Canada and ARTV. Her most recent documentary film, Couper le cordon (2025), is a feature-length production by Les Productions Colorées, for which she served as writer, screenwriter, and director.
