BIOGRAPHY

Director and photographer, Sandra Tomaylla is a Peruvian artist based in Québec City. A passionate self-taught creator, she works at the crossroads of film photography and cinema. Through carefully crafted images, she offers viewers an altered reality that reflects her whimsical way of seeing and living in the world. She has collaborated with artists in the music scene on the creation of various visual works, both photographic and videographic. Her strong interest in directing led her to take part in the production and post-production of music videos and of her first short documentary, produced by SPIRA, marking the beginning of her career as a filmmaker. Since then, she has written and directed three fiction short films in which she explores themes related to identity, alienation, and the relationship to territory through a feminine lens.
