BIOGRAPHY

Driven by a passion for visually striking and innovative storytelling, Annick Blanc co-founded Midi La Nuit with Maria Gracia Turgeon.

In 2024, her debut feature film Hunting Daze premiered at SXSW, Karlovy Vary, and Jeonju, won the Audience Award at Fantasia, and received five Iris Award nominations. Her short film The Colour of Your Lips (2019) was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award and won ten international prizes, including at Austin Fantastic Fest and Thessaloniki. Her earlier short, Nowhere Elsewhere (2010), won nine international awards, including at Palm Springs ShortFest and Vienna Independent Shorts.

As a producer, in addition to her own films, Blanc’s credits include Who Do I Belong To (2024), which premiered at the Berlinale and won the International New Talent Competition in Taipei, as well as several award-winning shorts such as Plain and Simple (2016 – FNC Grand Prize, TIFF), Surveillant (2011 – Sundance, San Francisco Grand Jury Prize), and Acrobat by Eduardo Menz (2012 – Locarno). She is also an associate producer on the Oscar-nominated short Brotherhood (2019).
