Caroline Hayeur and Myléna Bergeron are the first Canadian artists invited by the Duolun MoMA (Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art). They carry out a two-month artist residency which opens with a 45-minute video-music work. Shanghai was then in the grip of a frenzy in its urban development which spared only 5% of its historic city. The demolition, reconstruction and expansion of the city involves the forced migration of populations. The artists explore in vivo the changes of this city-world and observe the speed of metamorphosis of the landscape accentuated by the major construction sites which announce the Universal Exhibition of Shanghai in 2010.
