BIOGRAPHY

With support from the National Film Board of Canada, tali tried her hand at animation and shot her first one-minute test. This became her entry into Cinéaste recherché(e), a competition held by the Animation Studio of the NFB’s French Program. After winning the 1994 competition, she went on to complete her first professional film, Under the Weather (1997), a witty take on global warming. This first film already features her distinctive graphic style. In her second short film, Pirouette (2002), tali explores another social issue, offering a whimsical look at how factories process our food. Her flair for caricature results in characters whose shapes and movements are both comical and absurd. In At Home with Mrs. Hen (2006), tali opts for a more personal approach, depicting her own parenting experiences in the story of an exasperated hen and her difficult brood. In Bus Story, she again borrows from real life—this time her misadventures as a school bus driver
